The Texas Bison Association is a nonprofit organization formed March 21, 1994 in San Antonio, Texas. Founded by a group of bison owners and people concerned with and interested in the preservation and promotion of the North American Plains Bison, the TBA is an active part of today’s bison industry.
The Texas Bison Association provides assistance in raising and producing bison among our membership and promotes the nutritional health aspects of the North American Bison to consumers.
TBA Goals and Objectives
- To educate the public regarding the role and use of bison
- To promote bison meat as a heart healthy protein alternative to beef
- To offer opportunity for the purchase of high quality breeding stock through TBA sanctioned sales and our newsletter
- To identify breeders and quantify the bison population in the state of Texas
- To promote environmentally responsible use of grazing land.
